Life can leave us feeling shattered in a million little pieces.
Therapy helps put back the pieces one by one, with the pieces that are true to who you are, a wholly reassembled, whole again, version of you.
Seeking therapy is the decision to stop numbing away the pain and to start feeling in a deeply feeling world. You receive the gift of finding your potential, purpose, and people when you can feel.
When you feel, you experience true transformation.
You know deep down that you want life to feel different.
If you know that life needs to feel different, you need to do something different.
You already know what needs to change – therapy is simply about helping you identify it and apply it to your life.
So much of what you face today results from what you have experienced in the past. I am a therapist specializing in helping you unpack those things: connecting your past and present to build a more fulfilling, authentic future.
The best investment you can make is an investment in yourself.
The waiting is over; you are ready to take the next step.
You’ve scoured the Internet looking for the right fit. You’ve been through the directories reading profile after profile of therapists, never feeling quite ready to leap, worried that no one will truly “get me.”
The process of finding the right therapist can be daunting. Because what you are searching for is someone genuine, ready to dive in with you, who truly understands your problems, and with whom you can feel connected.
You want someone who creates a safe space to say things we don’t think we can say out loud to anyone. You want to feel heard, validated, and seen.
If any of this resonates with you, you are in the right place.
Hey there! I’m Cheyann
Personal experience guides my approach.
I am so glad you visited this site.
I show up in therapy as a human, just like you, because I have been down the dark, scary road that you are on now. I have long struggled with Anxiety Disorder, Trauma, family substance abuse, lost family to diseases, and know grief intimately.
My pain gifted me the passion for helping others. My therapy and education gifted me the tools to do just that. Every day, I am honored to work with brave, courageous individuals who show up for themselves despite the fear.
Working with people in need is sacred work and a privilege to hear your unique stories. I am simply a fellow traveler on the road of healing, ready to walk alongside you.
What it’s like working with me.
Thanks to my healing journey, I can approach each client as an individual with authenticity and realness.
I am flexible about what you do or don’t need. Instead, I believe it is my job to support you in helping you identify that for yourself. Because at the end of the day, I’m not the expert on your life – you are. I bring a real-life, practical, and straightforward approach to counseling. I’m comfortable getting uncomfortable if it means you see progress, and I don’t shy away from the hard parts of life.
Building a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients is essential, which is the basis for our work. I strive to be a therapist that is mindful, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
My clients say I’m empathetic, intuitive, and one hell of a hype woman. Starting therapy takes courage, and I honor your decision to start by reaching out to me.
Life outside of therapy is fulfilling.
When I am not working with fierce, courageous individuals like yourself, I stay involved in many activities. I soak up precious moments with my daughter, keep my nose perpetually stuck in a book, volunteer on the board of a local sober living organization, and spend time in nature.
I am a former elementary school teacher turned therapist who still jumps at the opportunity to educate and bring awareness about mental health and SUD to communities to decrease stigma. I have had a chance to guest lecture at Indiana University, but I still bleed black and gold – Boiler UP!
